Avocado Cucumber Smoothie Garnish

Avocado smoothies are absolutely amazing, and are found in many Southwest Asian cuisines.  I order them whenever they are on the menu at Vietnamese restaurants.  Today’s recipe is a twist on these delicious Asian treats.  I’ve added cucumber and Thai basil to get a unique, very refreshing smoothie that is just incredible on a hot summer’s day.  The combination of ingredients might sound odd to you, but trust me, it is one you will fall in love with.

Avocado Cucumber Smoothie Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1/2 Cucumber, peeled
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon chopped Thai basil (if not available, mint is nice as well)
  • 2 handfuls ice

How to make an Avocado Cucumber Smoothie

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until ice is chopped to a smooth, thick consistency.

Makes 1 smoothie.

Though I love my cucumber twist above, the purest in me screams to share the unadulterated Avocado smoothie recipe with you as well.  It is made the same, but with the following ingredients and measurements instead:

  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 handfuls ice

  • Hi Jothan! I just made this today and it was delish. I could have sworn there was regular milk in this too so I added some instead of the water. I also didn’t have Thai Basil. I’ll have to try it exactly next time. Pretty good with the cucumber, though.

  • Hi Jothan! How much cucumber do you put in? It’s not in the list of ingredients.

Can’t wait to try this, though. Sounds better than the original!

    • Oh my gosh! Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Not sure how I missed that when copying over the recipe.

I love hearing from my readers, so please go ahead and leave a comment!
